Ren Ostry
Community Organizer, Facilitator,
Actions Coordinator
a bit about me:
Hey!

I'm Ren, an organizer, activist, and student. I live in Ithaca, NY where I study environmental studies and social movements at Ithaca College. In my spare time I love to hang out at the gorgeous gorges of Ithaca and cook up delicious vegetarian meals. I'm also a bartender and avid needlepointer.
Right now, I work as the project assistant for a grassroots group called Fleased, through which I support landowners in New York State that have leased their land for fracking (and regret it). Through this work I am able to support frontline community members and provide them with support and education as well as provide them a platform to share their stories.

Aside from my work with Fleased, I am also the actions coordinator for the Green Umbrella, a bad-ass group of students across New York State that are working to create fossil-fuel-free campuses across the state. I work to connect students with community members and highlight the injustices climate change afflicts us all with through creative and strategic nonviolent direct action.

Justice is at the heart of all the climate change organizing that I do!
