Project |01 Powershift NY

Power Shift NY marked a turning point as young people of all backgrounds united to take a stand and demand a green economy. Across New York, we began to build grassroots campaigns for clean energy. With powerful training and a bold vision, we took game-changing action to create a livable future for all New Yorkers. Speakers and presenters included: Bill McKibben, Josh Fox, Wenonah Hauter (ED of Food &Water Watch), and Sandra Steingraber. On April 29. over 100 young people collaborated in creative direct action to tell Governor Cuomo we demand a green economy future.

Project |02 Don't Frack NY

After a weekend of speakers, workshops and skill building, over 1,500 New Yorkers marched through Albany to tell Gov. Cuomo one simple message: Don’t Frack New York. We collaborated with over 70 grassroots and non-profit organizations to launch an inclusive and diverse fossil fuel resistance in New York State. Don't Frack NY now stands as the largest anti-fracking coalition the state has ever seen.

Project |03 Divest IC

At Ithaca College, a growing coalition of environmental and social justice clubs have come together to challenge our institution to be one of the first in the country to divest from the fossil fuel industry. Ithaca College’s over $200 million endowment, which is invested in every aspect of the economy, including dirty energy companies such as coal, oil, and natural gas, is managed by a subcommittee of the Board of Trustees. We’re working to engage the IC community (students, clubs, faculty, staff, alumni and parents) and keep pressure on the board and continue open dialogue. Our campaign honers student leadership, full transparency, and a shift in power dynamics at Ithaca College.
